Day 6 (3/31/21): Nothing Ever Goes As Planned. Ever.

I'm exhausted, so I'm going to keep this short.

Today was another long day. We woke up (in the camper in the mechanics driveway) and he had already gotten up and out before his typical business hours to finish the truck. He took it for a test drive and car wash, and then I took it to get an alignment. I was so happy to have her back and running again! By the way, her name is Tula.

After that, mom and I returned my friend's car back to them, filled Tula with diesel, and headed back to the mechanics. Then, we had to load the camper - and her name is Mia - back on the truck. That took us about 45min probably. Longer than I'd like, but for our second time and doing it alone, not too bad!

Finally - we were on the road again!!

We headed south, from Ellensburg, down into Oregon. On the way, we decided to stop at a historical site to see some wagon ruts. But right before we got there, we had stopped at a rest stop only to discover that our battery wasn't charging (truck battery wasn't charging the camper battery) and was almost dead.

We had been debating where to stay that night already, but this decided it for us. We suspected that the camper wasn't plugged all the way into the truck to charge. So we had to find an electrical hookup to be able to charge the battery and use the jacks. We were 20mim from Baker City and there were only two RV camp sites in the small town.

So we put up camp there for the night, and skipped the wagon wheels. It was nothing to write home about. A RV and motel just as you'd expect for a small town. But it did the job.
